I have been licensed for over 50 years and, during this period there have been many transformational changes in technology as well as in our great hobby. However, Amateur Radio is still alive & kicking and seems able to embrace whatever change is thrown at it!

We have absorbed the introduction of the Internet, we communicate via space and we still seem to be at the forefront of most, if not all of the ’emerging technologies’ – but we are still willing and able to use the basis of all modern communications – Morse Code [the original “ones” and “noughts”].

The hobby still enthralls many of our youngsters and can be a great catalyst to encourage them to seriously look at Engineering as a viable career path to follow.

Long may the hobby survive and grow throughout the 21st Century!
